Better Daylighting with Self-tinting Glass
Self-tinting glass technology allows Suntuitive Dynamic Glass to adapt to changing sunlight conditions and provides a dynamic visible light range that minimizes the need for artificial light, while maintaining visually comfortable lighting conditions.
Self-tinting Glass = Adaptive Glass
The intensity of sunlight changes throughout the day. With conventional glass this also means changes in the amount of natural light that comes in. This includes hours of light amounts that far surpass what we experience as comfortable and conducive to productivity.
Suntuitive Dynamic Glass adapts to the constant changes in sunlight intensity. The adaptive technology allows the glass to tint dynamically through all weather conditions and seasons. This dynamic Visible Light Transmission (VLT) range ensures the right amount of daylight for occupants and reduces the opportunity for too much daylight, which causes glare.
Imperceptible Tinting
Suntuitive Self-tinting Glass adjusts its tinting level imperceptibly throughout the day in response to changing outside conditions. Building occupants will remain comfortable without being distracted by the natural tinting process.
Independent of Ambient Temperatures
Suntuitive Dynamic Glass is powered by sunlight. Ambient, or outside, temperatures have little to no effect on the glass’s ability to tint. On a cold sunny day in winter for example, Suntuitive will still tint and provide optimal comfort.
Daylight Autonomy
Suntuitive Dynamic Glass will protect building occupants from too much heat or glare by adjusting its tint. Adjusting the visible light transmission too far down would mean that building occupants will have to rely on artificial lighting, and the connection with the outside will be lost as views to the outside are being blocked. Suntuitive strikes the perfect balance between occupant comfort and being independent of artificial light, retaining daylight autonomy.
